ADVANCED PROPOSAL CLINIC

85% of the proposals we receive require significant improvements and sometimes even a  twist in overall concept. Our advanced proposal clinic is especially appropriate for applicants, who would require a follow up session on the progress and additional feedback on the quality of the proposal.

The SME Instrument Phase 1 Proposal Clinic is a thorough examination of your SME-1 proposal in two stages: during the first Skype session, we will provide you with comments and recommendations to reach the proposal's full potential. In the second session, we will assess the progress made, give another feedback on the overall quality and provide you with possible additional suggestions for improvement.

Step 1: Send us your SME-1 proposal in its current form at least 48 hours before we can provide you with feedback. We will then do some background research on the topic and previous projects funded in the area, and thoroughly examine the proposal.

Step 2: We will provide an interactive feedback on the proposal in a form of 45 minutes Skype session. The debate will provide you with recommendations for improvements in order to reach the full potential of the proposal. Concrete advice and instructions will help you improve your SME-1 proposal.

We will also provide you with our notes, summarizing:

  • general impression of the proposal
  • overview of shortcomings
  • suggestions for improvement

Step 3: After you refine your proposal according to our suggestions, you send it into another  review. In the second 30 minutes Skype session we provide you with the feedback about the improvements you made. That way you can find out whether your corrections went in the right direction. If this is not the case, you will have another chance to improve your proposal and significantly increase your chances of winning the SME Instrument grant.

WHY ARE WE OFFERING THIS?

A great Idea is not enough

An excellent project proposal is essential. In order to prepare one, most winners have relied on outsourced EU proposal experts. But good experts are expensive and have only limited time. This means that organisations, that already have funding, also have the best chances to succeed. But it should be exactly the opposite. The EU funds should support those projects that cannot be realized due to lack of or insufficient funding.

Fair opportunity for everyone

We decided to change this and give everybody a fair opportunity to get their project funded. This is how the H2020 Manuals were born. We decided to share our knowledge and know-how in this manual and make it accessible to larger public at just a fraction of the regular cost. In this way we can help more great ideas succeed and we give an opportunity to all those, who cannot afford a one-on-one consultancy.

Our experience shows that...

Most of the winning proposals use similar writing approach, formation and tricks that allow them to be assessed fast and earn exceptional evaluation scores. On the other hand, most of the rejected SME Instrument proposals fail to deliver the right information, contain fatal mistakes or drop out essential but not obvious elements that are critical for success.
